Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonas Mongstad started the match with the kick off. With an all-out effort, Mjøs's Bjarte Rødsjø threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ole-Gunnar Nysæter, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 7th minute, Morten Molstad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jonas Mongstad came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Grønnesby BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Mongstad couldn't finish the play. Bjarte Rødsjø showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ole-Gunnar Nysæter, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tormod Sørli during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41stth minute of the game Jonas Mongstad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mjøs's Morten Horne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kai Ræstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Morten Horne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Mongstad in the 46th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ole-Gunnar Nysæter to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ole-Gunnar Nysæter in the 52nd minute of play forced Grønnesby BK's goalkeeper Bjarte Rødsjø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mjøs's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Førsund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bjarte Rødsjø breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bjarte Rødsjø stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ole-Gunnar Nysæter's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Thomas Førsund might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bjarte Rødsjø. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thomas Førsund ran back to his position shaking his head. Ole-Gunnar Nysæter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bjarte Rødsjø tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
