Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Grotel's Jean-Paul Karelse started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan van den Hoogen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian de Wolf's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Grotel's zone, Adriaan Rooze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan van den Hoogen came out of the goal and Adriaan Rooze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Molenstad's Fabian de Wolf in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grotel's goalie prevented a goal. In the 9th minute, Wilco Wittendorp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Molenstad's Fabian de Wolf in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grotel's goalie prevented a goal. 16 minutes into the game, one of Molenstad:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Grotel a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gertjan Ieberink, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Molenstad's Antoon Jeuring. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabian de Wolf in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan van den Hoogen saved Grotel from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Stefano van der Bij got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rogier Oorthuis kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Douwe Brürs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabian de Wolf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan van den Hoogen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Wilco Wittendorp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Molenstad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some careless play in the Grotel defense, Fabian de Wolf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan van den Hoogen. The Grotel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan van den Hoogen should have stopped the shot. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Jean-Paul Karelse got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian de Wolf in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan van den Hoogen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45thth minute of the game Fabian de Wolf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grotel's Jan van den Hoogen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jan van den Hoogen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian de Wolf, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Jan van den Hoogen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabian de Wolf went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Mark Meertens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jan van den Hoogen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilco Wittendorp struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Jan van den Hoogen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Molenstad. With a little luck, Grotel's Jan van den Hoogen got control of the ball when Fabian de Wolf tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bart Collen took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antoon Jeuring. Antoon Jeuring dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Mark Meertens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antoon Jeuring made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerjan Heck in the 81st minute of play. If Gerjan Heck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Grotel's goalkeeper Jan van den Hoogen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabian de Wolf. In the 92nd minute, Stefano van der Bij got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Grotel fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Molenstad were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
