Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wim van der Werff took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jens Friebel charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jens Friebel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to The Northern Lights getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jens Friebel hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, The Northern Lights's goalkeeper Theo Meerdink had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martijn Neijsen. After a rather tough play, The Northern Lights's Rinus Kemper got a free kick in the 7th minute. Theo Meerdink made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim van der Werff in the 12th minute of play. Wim van der Werff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Theo Meerdink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Martijn Neijsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jens Friebel kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Frits Jeronimus, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 34 minutes into the match, The Northern Lights's goalkeeper Theo Meerdink had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martijn Neijsen. In the 34th match minute, The Northern Lights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Friebel to maneuver through the defense. Wim van der Werff struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Theo Meerdink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berghuizen HC. Wim van der Werff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martijn Neijsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Theo Meerdink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, The Northern Lights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurens Deitmers to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute, Wim van der Werff reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Theo Meerdink. The goal made the score 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Twan Blanker to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Berghuizen HC's Michael Borker got a free kick in the 58th minute. Theo Meerdink took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim van der Werff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Michael Borker came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Berghuizen HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Borker couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martijn Neijsen in the 66th minute of play forced The Northern Lights's goalkeeper Theo Meerdink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sander Alards showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Twan Blanker, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Wim van der Werff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th match minute, Berghuizen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Holten to maneuver through the defense. Gijs Boerma who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Sander Alards when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gijs Boerma struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Sander Alards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Northern Lights. When Jens Friebel was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. In the 82nd minute, Jens Friebel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Berghuizen HC's Frits Jeronimus couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for The Northern Lights. After having played for 91 minutes, Martijn Neijsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Berghuizen HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martijn Neijsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 100th minute Martijn Neijsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theo Meerdink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Martijn Neijsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 103rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Berghuizen HC fully deserved thier win.
