Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Arnout van Zwieten started the match with the kick off. When Marcus Zeegelaar came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Sas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Zeegelaar couldn't finish the play. Rinus van Rooijen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Billy Adelaar's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Rinus van Rooijen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Adelaar in the 11th minute of the match. Hans Stuifzand's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolf Israel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Billy Adelaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rinus van Rooijen having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Arnout van Zwieten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Billy Adelaar made a precise shot to the right of Rinus van Rooijen. Sas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rinus van Rooijen came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Banholt SC's Arnout van Zwieten. But to his dismay, Arnout van Zwieten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 29 minutes, Billy Adelaar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banholt SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Billy Adelaar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 played minutes Banholt SC got a freekick which was hit by Geert Staal. In the 35th minute Billy Adelaar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rinus van Rooijen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rinus van Rooijen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Adelaar in the 38th minute of the match. Rinus van Rooijen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnout van Zwieten, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When John Grommers fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banholt SC's protests and gave John Grommers a yellow card for diving instead. John Grommers hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans Stuifzand made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Banholt SC's zone, Hans Stuifzand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolf Israel came out of the goal and Hans Stuifzand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rolf Israel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurens Dekkers, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A collision led to Banholt SC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. John Grommers hit a great ball. Hans Stuifzand took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolf Israel. Rolf Israel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 68 minutes into the match, Aad Adelaar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rinus van Rooijen, 1-3. Sas's Rinus van Rooijen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Sas from getting a goal against them. In the 77th minute, Gerwin van Steensel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Billy Adelaar got free with Rinus van Rooijen in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aad Adelaar hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Rinus van Rooijen made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Billy Adelaar sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnout van Zwieten in the 91st minute of play forced Sas's goalkeeper Rinus van Rooijen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Banholt SC booed when Sas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Rooy didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Banholt SC's Rinus van Rooijen threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arnout van Zwieten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mark Rooy struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Rolf Israel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sas. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Banholt SC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
