The audience was convinced that Erwin van Westerop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dirk Haremeijer was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henny van der Gun in the 11th minute of play forced Boevenheuvel's goalkeeper Dirk Haremeijer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Erwin van Westerop notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Boevenheuvel's Dirk Haremeijer. Dirk Haremeijer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jan Schoenmakers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erwin van Westerop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dirk Haremeijer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dirk Joppets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hendrik Brugmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hendrik Brugmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans-Cees Kruiswijk kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. When Dennis Lembeck fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maaldrift's protests and gave Dennis Lembeck a yellow card for diving instead. Dennis Lembeck hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The long shot by Roeland Zandstra in the 38th minute really tested Dirk Joppets's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Hubert de Swart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute Henny van der Gun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk Haremeijer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Henny van der Gun made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes, Boevenheuvel's Dolf Nagel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dirk Joppets came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Boevenheuvel reached it. Jan Schoenmakers hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute, Roeland Zandstra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Maaldrift's Dirk Joppets didn't even have to move. Henny van der Gun struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Dirk Haremeijer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maaldrift. With a little luck, Boevenheuvel's Dirk Haremeijer got control of the ball when Jan Schoenmakers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the last second Dirk Haremeijer throw himself and got hold of the ball when Henny van der Gun in the 71stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serge Donderwinkel in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dirk Joppets prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Serge Donderwinkel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk Joppets having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Serge Donderwinkel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boevenheuvel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serge Donderwinkel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erwin van Westerop struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Dirk Haremeijer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maaldrift. If Serge Donderwinkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boevenheuvel walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
