The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan Wiersma didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lex Maurits went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Demy Mueller hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Roel Wijnands placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 13thth minute of the game Lex Maurits who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Noord's Jan Wiersma was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lex Maurits in the 17th minute of play forced Noord's goalkeeper Jan Wiersma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arne Hulsebos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hardingsveld's Florian de Jager proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Hardingsveld from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute Lex Maurits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Wiersma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gert Jonge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Jan Wiersma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arne Hulsebos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florian de Jager having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, Noord was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Zevenhuizen to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute Lex Maurits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Wiersma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Wiersma stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lex Maurits's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Arjen Staarman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jan Wiersma. Noord's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jan Wiersma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lex Maurits, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arne Hulsebos made a kick off. When Hardingsveld's Lex Maurits in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Noord's goalie prevented a goal. 64 minutes into the match, Noord's goalkeeper Jan Wiersma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lex Maurits. Lex Maurits fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Wiersma having to interfere. Gert Jonge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lex Maurits's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 71stth minute, Jan Wiersma skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 72nd minute Henk Koerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Wiersma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lex Maurits had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arne Hulsebos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florian de Jager having to interfere. Edgar Ros hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Noord's Roeland Schild got a free kick in the 87th minute. Lex Mauritss short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Jan Wiersma to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Arne Hulsebos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Hardingsveld left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Noord.
