But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martijn Waard couldn't finish the play. Floris Spiljard kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. A hard shot 14 in the game by Harry Windmuller from a close distance when the talented Elco van den Eede managed to make a qualified save. Vv schipluiden's players were relieved. In the 16th minute Godfried Wiggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ryan Cardinaal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald van Dam in the 18th minute of play forced FC Vlaardingen's goalkeeper Ryan Cardinaal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, FC Vlaardingen's goal looked a bit too open when Godfried Wiggers came free, but Ryan Cardinaal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harry Windmuller who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Elco van den Eede when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Vv schipluiden getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Riemer Hoekstra hit a great ball. Elco van den Eede was a little too slow when Gilbert Sloothaak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 3-0. Dimitrie Lyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elco van den Eede having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Godfried Wiggers to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, FC Vlaardingen's goal looked a bit too open when Godfried Wiggers came free, but Ryan Cardinaal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Vlaardingen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Arno Smeekes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Anton Abbekerk fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After having played for 70 minutes, Arno Smeekes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Vlaardingen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arno Smeekes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martijn Waard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Robert Schepers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Vv schipluiden's Riemer Hoekstra in action when he in the 86th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Elco van den Eede showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitrie Lyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the match, FC Vlaardingen's Harry Windmuller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elco van den Eede narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
