After some careless play in the Den Haag CL defense, Hette Harmsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henk Driel. The Den Haag CL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henk Driel should have stopped the shot. Fernando den Hartog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Henk Driel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jack Molnar's late challenge caught a Molekaten HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jack Molnar helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Den Haag CL's Jack Molnar got a free kick in the 19th minute. Fernando den Hartog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Henk Driel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Kostermans blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mathias de Boer having to make a save. Ronald Spanjaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando den Hartog in the 36th minute of play forced Den Haag CL's goalkeeper Henk Driel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hette Harmsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Fernando den Hartog got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henk Driel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hette Harmsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Den Haag CL's Henk Driel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando den Hartog in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Molekaten HC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando den Hartog stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Henk Driel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hette Harmsen in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the match, Den Haag CL's goalkeeper Henk Driel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hette Harmsen. In the 56th match minute, Den Haag CL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Kostermans to maneuver through the defense. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
