Ronny Kloppenburg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Henk Averdijk. Falco Broerse's late challenge caught a Houston Astros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Falco Broerse helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Kruisberg getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Falco Broerse hit a great ball. Ronny Kloppenburg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Ebbinge, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Kruisberg were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan Ebbinge was the one to do the kick off. If Jordy Wibier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 54 minutes into the game, Mirko Hanekamp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Houston Astros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kruisberg the free kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Kruisberg players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
