Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Govert Theissen got the match started through his kick off. After 4 played minutes Ranum got a freekick which was hit by Bob Bette. Godfried Schipper stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jochem Lammens's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Alex Aukes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Ranum's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Wijngaart came free, but Godfried Schipper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Wijngaart in the 15th minute of play forced Ranum's goalkeeper Godfried Schipper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herbert Schuurmans hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Godfried Schipper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Wijngaart in the 17th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Jochem Lammens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfried Schipper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jochem Lammens in the 22nd minute of play forced Ranum's goalkeeper Godfried Schipper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jan Wijngaart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Billy Borg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Godfried Schipper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jochem Lammens in the 36th minute of play. Ranum's Godfried Schipper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jochem Lammens in the 40th minute of play. Godfried Schipper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Wijngaart in the 41st minute of the match. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Jan Wijngaart sped through Ranum's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Godfried Schipper. After 47 played minutes Ranum got a freekick which was hit by Bob Bette. The Ranum players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Simpelveld FC were winning 0-1.
The supporters of Ranum booed when Simpelveld FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Borg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Bob Bette sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Simpelveld FC's Jan van Fessum didn't even have to move. 64 minutes into the match, Govert Theissen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan van Fessum. Simpelveld FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Govert Theissen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Jochem Lammens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godfried Schipper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Wijngaart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Harald Peters fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ranum's protests and gave Harald Peters a yellow card for diving instead. Harald Peters kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Godfried Schipper was a little too slow when Jan Wijngaart got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-4. Simpelveld FC's Jochem Lammens came free and shot a quick shot against goal 93 minutes in the game, fortunately Godfried Schipper had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 94th minute Govert Theissen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan van Fessum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
