Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Mike Ijksma got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Simon Heide managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horst's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Heide was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leendert Meulenbergh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Arnout van der Schaaf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Foeke Hadders during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 15 played minutes Horst got a freekick which was hit by Foeke Hadders. Fernando Ritsma hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 22 played minutes Sparta Rotterdam got a freekick which was hit by Remco Kruis. In the 23rd minute of the match Matthijs Boon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leendert Meulenbergh skillfully saved the ball. Horst's Rudolf Overdiep played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Ijksma in the 25th minute of play. Leendert Meulenbergh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Heide, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Simon Heide recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arnout van der Schaaf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leendert Meulenbergh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Heide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Sparta Rotterdam getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Remco Kruis hit a great ball. Arnout van der Schaaf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Overdiep didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mike Ijksma went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Heide to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Horst's goalkeeper Rudolf Overdiep had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Roordink. The attack was good, but when Simon Heide in the 68th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 71 minutes into the game, one of Horst:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, Sparta Rotterdam's Fernando Ritsma got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rudolf Overdiep. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sparta Rotterdam's goalkeeper Leendert Meulenbergh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Simon Heide managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Heide was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leendert Meulenbergh came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Horst's Foeke Hadders. But to his dismay, Foeke Hadders quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 85th minute, Frederik Adelaar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Simon Heide managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horst's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Heide was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leendert Meulenbergh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mike Ijksma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Frederik Adelaar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrick Roordink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Horst supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sparta Rotterdam's performance. The match ended with a win for Sparta Rotterdam.
