The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Wormereer got a freekick which was hit by Stephan Naaijer. Henk Dagelet kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Hans Vledder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wormereer's Henk Dagelet got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind De Pijp's goalkeeper Kurt Kuypers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. De Pijp's Jiang Guang Cheng couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wormereer. In the 19th minute, Jiang Guang Cheng ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roland Tinge was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Carlo Zondervan fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De Pijp's protests and gave Carlo Zondervan a yellow card for diving instead. Carlo Zondervan kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Gert Heuving fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Kuypers having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Carlo Zondervan made a precise shot to the right of Roland Tinge. Wormereer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 33 minutes into the game, De Pijp's Jiang Guang Cheng nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roland Tinge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. With an all-out effort, Wormereer's Kurt Kuypers threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Henk Dagelet, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kurt Kuypers made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Gert Heuving sent off a good shot on target. Kurt Kuypers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerrit Schaap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephan Naaijer hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Kurt Kuypers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert Heuving in the 56th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Carlo Zondervan managed to get in a good position for a shot. De Pijp's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlo Zondervan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Tinge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gert Heuving sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurt Kuypers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerrit Schaap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gert Heuving had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the game, Wormereer's Marco Sleiffer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kurt Kuypers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Henk Dagelet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Kurt Kuypers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Jiang Guang Cheng was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. De Pijp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wormereer the free kick. The supporters of Wormereer booed when De Pijp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jiang Guang Cheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched De Pijp eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
