After having played for 23 minutes, Julius Post managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flevo HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julius Post was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flevo HC's Stef Meertens quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jhon Heijen, made in the 28th minute of the game. Hugo Bos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julius Post's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Julius Post kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hugo Bos. That made the score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. In the 35th minute, Julius Post reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hugo Bos. The goal made the score 2-1. Hugo Bos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julius Post in the 39th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julius Post stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julius Post received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Hugo Bos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilbert Bot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Bos having to interfere. The supporters of Flevo HC booed when Firdgum S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Wensing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilbert Bot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Julius Post's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Bos was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Flevo HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mathias Staal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Flevo HC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
