Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Abcoven's Henry Wibier got a free kick in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Gert Melis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abcoven's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert Melis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wouter de Gooijer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gert Melis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Wouter de Gooijer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 minutes of play, Abcoven's Gert Melis made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wouter de Gooijer was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Abcoven getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Werner Holst hit a great ball. Ferry Idema hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ab Thijsse in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Coenraad Heebels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Enumatil FC's Ab Thijsse dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karsten Huisman got free with Coenraad Heebels in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ab Thijsse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karsten Huisman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 40th match minute, Abcoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Werner Holst to maneuver through the defense. After 43 minutes Abcoven's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arjen Evans who took care of the corner kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gert Melis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Karsten Huisman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Coenraad Heebels was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Ab Thijsse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Coenraad Heebels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ab Thijsse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Abcoven getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Werner Holst hit a great ball. Gert Melis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wouter de Gooijer came out and tried to block the shot, but Gert Melis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 68th minute. Coenraad Heebels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ab Thijsse, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Enumatil FC's Karsten Huisman got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Abcoven's goal looked a bit too open when Ab Thijsse came free, but Coenraad Heebels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karsten Huisman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Coenraad Heebels having to interfere. Ab Thijsse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
