In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abcoven's goalkeeper Coenraad Heebels, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 42nd minute of the match Martien Apotheker sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Coenraad Heebels skillfully saved the ball. Jurgen Tinselboer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Meindert van Steensel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
Gert Melis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Meindert van Steensel made a huge save. 53 minutes into the match, Jurgen Tinselboer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Meindert van Steensel. Driebruggen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jurgen Tinselboer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Driebruggen's Meindert van Steensel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Driebruggen from getting a goal against them. Pieter Boeve got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 61 played minutes Driebruggen got a freekick which was hit by Pieter Boeve. In the 62nd minute, one of Driebruggen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Driebruggen. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Ivo Som managed to get in a good position for a shot. Driebruggen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivo Som was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Coenraad Heebels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jurgen Tinselboer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Meindert van Steensel having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Gert Melis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gert Melis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Meindert van Steensel came out and tried to block the shot, but Gert Melis slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 79th minute. Ivo Som fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Coenraad Heebels having to interfere. Meindert van Steensel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jurgen Tinselboer in the 91st minute. 97 minutes into the game, Driebruggen's Ivo Som nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Coenraad Heebels made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. The Abcoven players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Driebruggen from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
