The supporters of Wetsinge booed when Lemele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert van Nistelrooij didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wetsinge's Ab Kok couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 16th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Lemele. In the 18th minute of the match, Damien Germs tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Roy van der Weerden saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pascal Douwes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egbert Adriaanse having to make a save. Egbert Adriaanse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascal Douwes, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wim van Gaal was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Damien Germs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Izaak Bouma fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lemele's protests and gave Izaak Bouma a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Izaak Bouma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Damien Germs notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lemele's Roy van der Weerden. Roy van der Weerden was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Pascal Douwes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egbert Adriaanse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim van Gaal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Wetsinge's Japke Dalman got a free kick in the 76th minute. Wetsinge's Joop Vrede got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Egbert Adriaanse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim van Gaal, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Lemele supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lemele would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
