The supporters of Marden City booed when Green Dragons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Kühnhackl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toby Hibbert's late challenge caught a Green Dragons's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toby Hibbert helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute Laurent Müller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Austin Cotterill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Albrecht was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ted Hodgson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 63 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rudy Feuerstein during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute, Ted Hodgson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 92 minutes, Ted Hodgson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marden City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Hodgson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. CJ Currie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Lars Albrecht made a huge save. The Marden City players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
