Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kurt White kicked off to start the match. Stan Dixon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt White, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caleb Parks charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caleb Parks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes Wombwell City got a freekick which was hit by Caleb Parks. Kurt White sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathon Edison charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathon Edison the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 12 in the game by Austen Sawbridge from a close distance when the talented Stan Dixon managed to make a qualified save. Wombwell City's players were relieved. A collision led to Wombwell City getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Kurt Fordham hit a great ball. Austen Sawbridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Stan Dixon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathon Edison hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Austen Sawbridge in the 24th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 27th minute of the match, Kurt White tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stan Dixon saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 28 played minutes Wombwell City got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Fordham. Kurt White recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kurt White received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stan Dixon came out and tried to block the shot, but Kurt White slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 33rd minute. Rob Jewson charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rob Jewson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rob Jewson kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With his leg Stan Dixon managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Luxembourg's Austen Sawbridge fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Luxembourg getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. George Sutcliffe hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gareth Hewitt made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Luxembourg's Austen Sawbridge got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Lucas Hitchcock took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Halliday. Ivan Halliday dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Luxembourg made a substitution. Darren Carr replaced Kurt White. Luxembourg made a substitution. Glyn Cookson replaced Vance Attenborough. When Kurt Fordham fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wombwell City's protests and gave Kurt Fordham a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Luxembourg booed when Wombwell City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Fordham didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Glyn Cookson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stan Dixon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kurt Fordham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute Leo Osmond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Dixon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Halliday showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gareth Hewitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Ivan Halliday showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gareth Hewitt in the 79th minute of the match. Stan Dixon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austen Sawbridge in the 83rd minute of play. When Luxembourg's Austen Sawbridge in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wombwell City's goalie prevented a goal. Wombwell City's Stan Dixon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Osmond in the 91st minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Luxembourg players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
