After some careless play in the Gaione defense, Toomas Ime kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fortunato Riccitelli. The Gaione fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fortunato Riccitelli should have stopped the shot. Ercole Nicolai kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Ercole Nicolai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fortunato Riccitelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mircea Ştef in the 15th minute of play. Fortunato Riccitelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Ştef in the 18th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Ercole Nicolai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Varedo AFC's Fortunato Nicolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmine Borromeo in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Varedo AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Concetto Sampo hit a great ball. Felice Pompilio made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Andrea Azzolina however managed to control.
The wind increased when Mircea Ştef made the kick off in the second half. The Varedo AFC fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Varedo AFC's Mircea Ştef looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Varedo AFC booed when Gaione was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demetrio Pan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Mircea Ştef cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Fortunato Riccitelli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fortunato Riccitelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Nicolai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carmine Borromeo during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Gaione getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Carmine Borromeo hit a great ball. A hard shot 65 in the game by Mircea Ştef from a close distance when the talented Fortunato Riccitelli managed to make a qualified save. Gaione's players were relieved. Toomas Ime received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Fortunato Riccitelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaione's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Mircea Ştef scored to the left of an out of position Fortunato Riccitelli, making the score, 0-5. 74 minutes into the game, Mircea Ştef recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fortunato Riccitelli. Mircea Ştef showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Fortunato Nicolo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Borromeo in the 81st minute of play. Fortunato Nicolo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carmine Borromeo went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. Fortunato Riccitelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Ştef in the 89th minute of the match. If Ercole Nicolai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Gaione fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Varedo AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
