The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Ernesto Mastrangelo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Prato's Fortunato Carlucci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Prato from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Gigli in the 18th minute of play forced Zoid FC's goalkeeper Adriano Zisser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elia Palmucci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adriano Zisser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. If Ernesto Mastrangelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Elia Palmucci came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Prato fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elia Palmucci couldn't finish the play. The Zoid FC fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Zoid FC's Dennis Marulli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Marulli in the 59th minute of play forced Prato's goalkeeper Fortunato Carlucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elia Palmucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Adriano Zisser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Adriano Gigli got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Prato's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Gigli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvise Pavia charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alvise Pavia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alvise Pavia hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Armando Martinelli got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Adriano Zisser quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Ernesto Mastrangelo fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zoid FC's protests and gave Ernesto Mastrangelo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Zoid FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ernesto Mastrangelo hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Adriano Zisser successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Fortunato Carlucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Marulli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Zoid FC booed when Prato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eraldo Ranalli didn't get a good kick on the ball.
