Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Coviolo's Cesare Alfonsi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Cesare Alfonsi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coviolo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Augusto Del Monaco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Palmisano having to interfere. Fabio Vierchowod recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Fabio Vierchowod came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Marengo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Vierchowod couldn't finish the play. After having played for 16 minutes, Camillo Mingione managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coviolo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camillo Mingione was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto Del Monaco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Ermanno Palmisano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anfilogino Aureli during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes Marengo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Aureli. After a rather tough play, Coviolo's Claudio Marchegiani got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Concetto Formaggio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Alfonsi in the 27th minute of play. Fulvio Fantozzi hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. When Augusto Del Monaco came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Marengo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Del Monaco couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Vierchowod got free with Ermanno Palmisano in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ermanno Palmisano acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fedele Giansante. When Augusto Del Monaco came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Marengo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Del Monaco couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Augusto Del Monaco made the kick off in the second half. Fabio Vierchowod fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Palmisano having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Coviolo's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Del Monaco came free, but Ermanno Palmisano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Coviolo's zone, Augusto Del Monaco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermanno Palmisano came out of the goal and Augusto Del Monaco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camillo Mingione fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto Formaggio having to interfere. After some careless play in the Coviolo defense, Augusto Del Monaco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ermanno Palmisano. The Coviolo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ermanno Palmisano should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Del Monaco in the 78th minute of play forced Coviolo's goalkeeper Ermanno Palmisano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 played minutes Coviolo got a freekick which was hit by Fulvio Fantozzi. Coviolo's Ermanno Palmisano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Vierchowod in the 86th minute of play. Ermanno Palmisano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Del Monaco in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Coviolo getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Dennis Pagliarini hit a great ball. Ermanno Palmisano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Del Monaco's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. If Fabio Vierchowod had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Marengo AFC had played much better football throughout.
