Ettore Rucci kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Filippo Di Giacomo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augusto Baresi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Rosato having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filippo Di Giacomo to make the kick off. Classe's Frank Di Girolamo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filippo Di Giacomo in the 54th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristoforo Sergi got free with Frank Di Girolamo in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enrico Ragazzoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Classe booed when Ballo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Del Giudice didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Augusto Baresi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Classe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Baresi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ballo's Damiano Toto got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 92nd match minute, Ballo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camillo Del Giudice to maneuver through the defense. Frank Di Girolamo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristoforo Sergi in the 98th minute. When the final whistle sounded Ballo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Classe.
