Ciro Lenzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Minotti spun around in front of the goal 7 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Cascina Vica's goal. When Davide Travaglini fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cascina Vica's protests and gave Davide Travaglini a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Davide Travaglini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alessio Gaudino was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Celle Ligure's goalkeeper Ciro Lenzi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Micarelli. 18 minutes into the game, Alvaro Micarelli recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ciro Lenzi. Alvaro Micarelli showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Celle Ligure's zone, Alvaro Micarelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Lenzi came out of the goal and Alvaro Micarelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Lenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesare Di Febo in the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to Celle Ligure getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Bernardo Speranza hit a great ball. Eraldo Bassani's shot from long distance in the 40th minute was not bad at all, but Celle Ligure's Ciro Lenzi knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 43rd minute, Alvaro Micarelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cesare Di Febo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 47 played minutes Cascina Vica got a freekick which was hit by Achille Di Pietrantonio. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cesare Di Febo made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Celle Ligure got a freekick which was hit by Davide Riva. If Alvaro Micarelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Minotti in the 63rd minute of play forced Cascina Vica's goalkeeper Fortunato De Leonardis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Amerigo Talone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celle Ligure's supporters rose to their feet, but Amerigo Talone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato De Leonardis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the match, Celle Ligure's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Micarelli came free, but Ciro Lenzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 minutes, Enrico Antonangeli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cascina Vica and the Celle Ligure players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Enrico Antonangeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 90 minutes into the game, Amerigo Talone cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Fortunato De Leonardis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 99th minute, Enrico Antonangeli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cascina Vica were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Celle Ligure for a fine match.
