After some careless play in the Cavi defense, Enrico Quercia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cosimo Navarra. The Cavi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cosimo Navarra should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrico Quercia in the 24th minute of play forced Cavi's goalkeeper Cosimo Navarra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Antonangeli received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alessio Sacchi came out and tried to block the shot, but Bernardo Antonangeli slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 28th minute. Cosimo Navarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrico Quercia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander De Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 47 minutes, Enrico Quercia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sesto San Giovanni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrico Quercia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cavi players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sesto San Giovanni were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexander De Rossi to make the kick off. Cavi's Cosimo Navarra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Cavi from getting a goal against them. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Cavi were victorious despite being under pressure from Sesto San Giovanni for much of the match.
