A collision led to Juventus getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. 崔耀兴 hit a great ball. Arturo Falcone took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ferdinando Maldini. Juventus's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 8th minute Antonio Maiorano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinando Maldini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Recco's Franco De Rossi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferdinando Maldini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Franco De Rossi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferdinando Maldini having to make a save. Ferdinando Maldini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Maiorano in the 20th minute of play. Angelo Del Papa kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Elia Chitarroni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Cristoforo Zola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carter Atroce kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Elia Chitarroni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristoforo Zola having to interfere. A hard, long distance shot from Cesare Ciaccia flew over the goal. Alex De Feo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristoforo Zola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Ferdinando Maldini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franco De Rossi in the 38th minute of the match. Ferdinando Maldini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Di Virgilio, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Ferdinando Maldini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco De Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Juventus's Cesare Cicchinelli got a free kick in the 45th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elia Chitarroni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juventus's Ferdinando Maldini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Juventus from getting a goal against them. Alex De Feo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elia Chitarroni in the 59th minute of play forced Recco's goalkeeper Cristoforo Zola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elia Chitarroni took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristoforo Zola. Cristoforo Zola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After having played for 70 minutes, Alex De Feo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex De Feo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alex De Feo struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Cristoforo Zola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus. Cristoforo Zola came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Juventus's Alex De Feo. But to his dismay, Alex De Feo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Ferdinando Maldini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Di Virgilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Alex De Feo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juventus's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex De Feo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristoforo Zola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Recco's zone, Alex De Feo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristoforo Zola came out of the goal and Alex De Feo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferdinando Maldini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvise Alati in the 94th minute. After a rather tough play, Juventus's Elia Chitarroni got a free kick in the 94th minute. Juventus walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
