Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Sottomarina's zone, Ernesto Simonetti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmondo Trombatore came out of the goal and Ernesto Simonetti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Meianiga getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Anthony Salvagnin hit a great ball. Demetrio Dossena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Enrico Sisti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After recieving a nice pass, Meianiga's Biagio Caccavale tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Demetrio Dossena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Diego Pietrantoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernesto Simonetti struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Edmondo Trombatore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meianiga. The crowd rose to their feet as Sottomarina's Enrico Sisti slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diego Pietrantoni. That made the score 1-0 after 46 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
Anthony Salvagnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anthony Salvagnin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmondo Trombatore having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Ernesto Simonetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meianiga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Simonetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrico Sisti in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego Pietrantoni saved Meianiga from getting behind. Anthony Salvagnin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edmondo Trombatore firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ernesto Simonetti struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Edmondo Trombatore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meianiga. Diego Pietrantoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Demetrio Dossena, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Ernesto Simonetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Anthony Salvagnin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmondo Trombatore. Sottomarina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anthony Salvagnin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Sottomarina's Comunardo Di Gennaro got a free kick in the 89th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Meianiga's Biagio Caccavale broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Anthony Salvagnin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmondo Trombatore having to interfere. In the 95th minute Demetrio Dossena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Pietrantoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Meianiga players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
