Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Antonio Montagna got the match started through his kick off. Demetrio Ciraci stood somewhat misplaced when Alvise Pallotta came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 12 minute. 20 minutes into the match, Montenero FC's goalkeeper Demetrio Ciraci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfonso Melucci. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Montenero FC. Anselmo Porro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Elia Antognoni. 1-1. Christian Cavallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Antonio Montagna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes, Alfonso Piermattei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montenero FC and the Formigine FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Alfonso Piermattei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Formigine FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Lauri came free, but Elia Antognoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Christian Cavallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montenero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Cavallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elia Antognoni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
After 51 played minutes Montenero FC got a freekick which was hit by Dino Mucci. The audience cheered when Alvaro Cellucci's long shot passed Demetrio Ciraci's right side. It was 2-1, 52 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Alex Lauri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montenero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Lauri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elia Antognoni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 61 minutes into the match, Antonio Montagna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Demetrio Ciraci. Montenero FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antonio Montagna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Formigine FC's Elia Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Cavallo in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute Christian Cavallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elia Antognoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Demetrio Ciraci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Montagna, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. If Alfonso Melucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antonio Montagna scored 4-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Demetrio Ciraci, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Cavallo in the 84th minute of play forced Formigine FC's goalkeeper Elia Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Alfonso Melucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demetrio Ciraci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Formigine FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Montenero FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
