Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antonello Colantoni to strike the kick off in the second half. Armando Marcucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonello Colantoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Ferruccio Galdi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Carmine Foni made a huge save. If Fausto Ruzzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carmine Foni made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Ferruccio Galdi sent off a good shot on target. Cristoforo Proietto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Armando Marcucci made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 92 minutes into the match, Gavasseto's goal looked a bit too open when Cristoforo Proietto came free, but Armando Marcucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ferruccio Galdi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carmine Foni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Gavasseto's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Garniga Nuova AFC had won, even though Gavasseto had held more of the ball.
