The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Donato Palmieri in the 18th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Alexander Egidi kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Fabrizio Mara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arrigo Romanese, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 22nd match minute, Paluello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corrado Trevisani to maneuver through the defense. If Alvise Romino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fabrizio Mara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvise Romino in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Paluello booed when Marinasco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Galliani didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donato Palmieri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmondo Di Natale during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
