When Angelo Marinacci fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borgolombardo's protests and gave Angelo Marinacci a yellow card for diving instead. Capo Berta's Elia Grossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Capo Berta from getting a goal against them. Borgolombardo's Angelo Marinacci got his second yellow card of the match in the 24th minute. The referee ordered Angelo Marinacci off the ground. The supporters of Capo Berta booed when Borgolombardo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Marinacci didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Borgolombardo defense, Dave Toto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Spano. The Borgolombardo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Spano should have stopped the shot. Capo Berta's Christian Laudadio suffered a sore thigh after 33 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 33 minutes, Felice Peca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borgolombardo and the Capo Berta players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Borgolombardo getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Felice Peca hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Capo Berta's Anthony Di Giacomo got a free kick in the 41st minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anthony Contestabile to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Fausto De Carolis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borgolombardo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capo Berta the free kick. In the 58th match minute, Borgolombardo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto De Carolis to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 60 in the game by Dave Toto from a close distance when the talented Diego Spano managed to make a qualified save. Borgolombardo's players were relieved. If Dave Toto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Concetto Selvaggi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Capo Berta's zone, Anthony Contestabile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elia Grossi came out of the goal and Anthony Contestabile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anthony Contestabile's late challenge caught a Capo Berta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthony Contestabile helped the player get up and apologised. Concetto Selvaggi struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Diego Spano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capo Berta. Dave Toto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Spano having to interfere. After 80 minutes, Dave Toto made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Borgolombardo's Diego Spano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capo Berta's goalkeeper Elia Grossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Dave Toto came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Capo Berta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Toto couldn't finish the play. The Capo Berta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Capo Berta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
