After a defensive mix-up in San Maurízio's zone, Carter Di Martino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Santilli came out of the goal and Carter Di Martino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute, Arrigo Di Marino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabio Santilli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Iacovella in the 13th minute of play. Carter Di Martino scored 1-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabio Santilli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Soccavo's Carter Di Martino in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carter Di Martino was the one to do the kick off. Fabio Santilli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carter Di Martino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carter Di Martino in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Santilli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61stth minute of the game Carter Di Martino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Maurízio's Fabio Santilli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Soccavo booed when San Maurízio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Del Papa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Carter Di Martino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Santilli was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game.
