Emiliano Frezza might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elia Furia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emiliano Frezza ran back to his position shaking his head. Elia Furia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Loiacono in the 19th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Eugenio Loiacono had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elia Furia. Novegro AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eugenio Loiacono was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Novegro AFC booed when San Maurízio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Giannotti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabio Santilli came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Novegro AFC's Aurelio Minichiello. But to his dismay, Aurelio Minichiello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Eugenio Loiacono fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia Furia having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Ferdinando Di Virgilio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Maurízio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Novegro AFC the free kick. After 32 played minutes San Maurízio got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinando Di Virgilio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo Di Croce in the 35th minute of play forced San Maurízio's goalkeeper Fabio Santilli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arrigo Di Croce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aurelio Minichiello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Fabio Santilli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Novegro AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Maurízio were winning 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emiliano Frezza made a kick off. Fabio Santilli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arrigo Di Croce went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Emiliano Frezza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute of the match, Eugenio Loiacono got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elia Furia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Elia Furia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Frezza in the 65th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Novegro AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Capasso to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute, Emiliano Frezza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Carter Larizza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenio Loiacono in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. San Maurízio's Fabio Santilli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arrigo Di Croce in the 94th minute of play. The San Maurízio supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Maurízio would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
