Attilio Ciapponi's late challenge caught a Bettola FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bettola FC's Diego Gentili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Ciapponi in the 73rd minute of play. Villanova Di Denore's Attilio Ciapponi got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Bettola FC defense, Attilio Ciapponi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Gentili. The Bettola FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Gentili should have stopped the shot. If Carmine Conforti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of Bettola FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Bettola FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Villanova Di Denore were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
