Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Achille Volponi took the kick off in the first half of the match. Davide Oddi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Marcolongo in the 3rd minute of play. If Fortunato Belfiore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Achille Volponi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bianco Santovito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bianco Puglielli having to interfere. Davide Oddi stood somewhat misplaced when Fortunato Belfiore came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 20 minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Bianco Santovito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salentina FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bianco Santovito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bianco Puglielli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Achille Volponi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amos Verdone in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Davide Oddi saved Salentina FC from getting behind. Fortunato Belfiore might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Davide Oddi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fortunato Belfiore ran back to his position shaking his head. Ciccio Giardino charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciccio Giardino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Castel Guelfo FC booed when Salentina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciccio Giardino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th match minute, Salentina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciccio Giardino to maneuver through the defense. Davide Oddi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fortunato Belfiore in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, Salentina FC's Ciccio Giardino got a free kick in the 44th minute. Amos Verdone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amos Verdone got in the 49th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Davide Oddi handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amos Verdone to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Castel Guelfo FC got a freekick which was hit by Florian Marcolongo. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Achille Volponi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achille Volponi in the 57th minute of play forced Castel Guelfo FC's goalkeeper Bianco Puglielli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessio Cilli kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Fortunato Belfiore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Davide Oddi was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Amos Verdone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davide Oddi having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fortunato Belfiore in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davide Oddi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fortunato Belfiore in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Davide Oddi saved Salentina FC from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Castel Guelfo FC's goalkeeper Bianco Puglielli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bianco Santovito. Alvaro Bearzot hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Davide Oddi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amos Verdone's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After 85 minutes, Carlo Falone mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castel Guelfo FC and the Salentina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 86 played minutes Castel Guelfo FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Falone. 89 minutes into the match, Salentina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fortunato Belfiore came free, but Davide Oddi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Amos Verdone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castel Guelfo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amos Verdone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davide Oddi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Salentina FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
