Alexander Facchetti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Contestabile, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Carlo Giammaria hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Alexander Facchetti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Improta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fulvio Piacentini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Vitelli in the 46th minute of the match. Ercole Di Ruscio charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ercole Di Ruscio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Lions got a freekick which was hit by Ercole Di Ruscio. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After having played for 53 minutes, Bernardo Colecchia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventus Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Colecchia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute, Daniele Romano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Dino Improta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dario Contestabile sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute Amedeo Anzolin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulvio Piacentini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dario Contestabile received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Alexander Facchetti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dario Contestabile in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexander Facchetti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Lions's zone, Amedeo Anzolin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulvio Piacentini came out of the goal and Amedeo Anzolin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Biavati hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 87 minutes into the match, Lions's Dave Palmucci broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 92nd minute, Corrado Cino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
