With a little luck, Nuova Florida FC's Fedele Sartori got control of the ball when Beppe Proietto tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Domenico Marcolongo came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Nuova Florida FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Marcolongo couldn't finish the play. Concetto Pili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Vettori, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Nuova Florida FC's Fedele Sartori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biagio Pala in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Eugenio Vettori got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Eugenio Vettori managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nuova Florida FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Vettori was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beppe Proietto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Fedele Sartori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Nuova Florida FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Damiano Zaino hit a great ball. Nuova Florida FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenio Vettori was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Concetto Pili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Beppe Proietto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fedele Sartori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Fossalta's Beppe Proietto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fedele Sartori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Biagio Pala to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Beppe Proietto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute, Alberigo Gori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Nuova Florida FC's Eugenio Vettori sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Concetto Pili narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 68 minutes, Domenico Marcolongo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nuova Florida FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domenico Marcolongo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute Biagio Pala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fedele Sartori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Fossalta booed when Nuova Florida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Puce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Concetto Pili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domenico Marcolongo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute of the match Nuova Florida FC got a corner. Fossalta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amerigo Pantani ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nuova Florida FC were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Fossalta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Amerigo Pantani took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in Fossalta's zone, Eugenio Vettori stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Concetto Pili came out of the goal and Eugenio Vettori tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th match minute, Fossalta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Bozzelli to maneuver through the defense. Fossalta's Concetto Pili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domenico Marcolongo in the 91st minute of play. Fossalta's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
