If Fortunato Travaglini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cesare Sciascia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fortunato Travaglini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serravalle's Cristiano Rotolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Comunardo Boldrini in the 11th minute of play. In the 20th minute Camillo Tabacchi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Rotolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute Mottella AFC were awarded a corner. Davide Graziano went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Davide Graziano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Serravalle's Cristiano Rotolo did a great save. In the 24th minute, Davide Graziano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cesare Sciascia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fortunato Travaglini in the 32nd minute of play. Antonello Rubini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cesare Sciascia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mottella AFC's Cesare Sciascia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fortunato Travaglini in the 37th minute of play. Fortunato Travaglini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Serravalle booed when Mottella AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filippo Eboli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermanno Borgatello struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Cristiano Rotolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mottella AFC. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mottella AFC's goalkeeper Cesare Sciascia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Antonello Rubini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesare Sciascia having to interfere. After 59 minutes, Emilio Garibaldi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Serravalle and the Mottella AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Comunardo Boldrini's late challenge caught a Serravalle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Comunardo Boldrini helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Mottella AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Comunardo Boldrini to maneuver through the defense. Fortunato Travaglini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesare Sciascia having to interfere. Adriano De Carolis's late challenge caught a Mottella AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adriano De Carolis helped the player get up and apologised. After 68 played minutes Serravalle got a freekick which was hit by Adriano De Carolis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Rubini in the 73rd minute of play forced Mottella AFC's goalkeeper Cesare Sciascia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fortunato Travaglini scored 1-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cesare Sciascia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ermanno Borgatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Rotolo having to interfere. Anfilogino Teodori hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Davide Graziano from long distance, 86 minutes into the match, got Cristiano Rotolo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The crowd rose to their feet as Comunardo Boldrini kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristiano Rotolo. That made the score 1-1 in the 93 minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
