Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Costa's Anselmo Di Vito started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Costa got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Rondinelli. After 5 played minutes, Poggioreale's Donato Tomei shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Augusto Riso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poggioreale reached it. Attilio Muto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Riso having to interfere. In the 12th minute Arrigo Vitucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Riso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Riso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arrigo Vitucci in the 17th minute of the match. Eugenio Santagata scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurelio Minichiello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aurelio Minichiello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eugenio Santagata went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 31st match minute, Poggioreale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Petrini to maneuver through the defense. If Anselmo Di Vito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Anselmo Di Vito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aurelio Minichiello was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 39th minute, Anselmo Di Vito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Eugenio Santagata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenio Santagata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Minichiello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Poggioreale:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Costa:s goal. Anselmo Di Vito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

With a little luck, Costa's Augusto Riso got control of the ball when Attilio Muto tried to sneak it across the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Cristiano Polmone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poggioreale the free kick. In the 57th minute, Cristiano Polmone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Attilio Muto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Riso having to interfere. In the 70th minute Anselmo Di Vito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Minichiello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugenio Santagata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Aurelio Minichiello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Riso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arrigo Vitucci in the 76th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, Corrado Crognale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poggioreale the free kick. After 81 played minutes Costa got a freekick which was hit by Corrado Crognale. When Arrigo Vitucci came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Poggioreale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arrigo Vitucci couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the match, Poggioreale's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Santagata came free, but Aurelio Minichiello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eugenio Santagata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Attilio Muto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Riso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo Vitucci in the 97th minute of play forced Costa's goalkeeper Augusto Riso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Poggioreale players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Costa.
