Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Fabrizio Di Giacomo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute, Diego Banana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute of the match Corrado Fulgenzi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eugenio Tonon skillfully saved the ball. Franco Luongo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Bertoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damiano Teti in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franco Luongo saved Monte Olimpino AFC from getting behind. Franco Luongo came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Santa Maria's Damiano Teti. But to his dismay, Damiano Teti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eugenio Tonon made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Ciccio Bertoni sent off a good shot on target. After 28 minutes, Fabrizio Di Giacomo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monte Olimpino AFC and the Santa Maria players grew even worse after the yellow card. Antonello Giuliani kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Ciccio Bertoni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damiano Teti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Franco Luongo having to make a save. When Antonello Giuliani fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Maria's protests and gave Antonello Giuliani a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Antonello Giuliani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Fabrizio Di Giacomo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 46 minutes of play, Monte Olimpino AFC's Ciccio Bertoni made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Tonon was left in no man's land by his defense there! The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 53 played minutes Santa Maria got a freekick which was hit by Diego Banana. Monte Olimpino AFC's Fabrizio Di Giacomo got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ciccio Bertoni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Banana kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Eugenio Tonon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciccio Bertoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Monte Olimpino AFC's Franco Luongo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Bertoni in the 63rd minute of play. Alfonso Bertoni received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Luongo came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfonso Bertoni slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 67th minute. Alfonso Bertoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Franco Luongo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldo Di Martino's late challenge caught a Monte Olimpino AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aldo Di Martino helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Santa Maria's Aldo Di Martino got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Monte Olimpino AFC's Franco Luongo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Bertoni in the 81st minute of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 86th minute, but Franco Luongo got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Monte Olimpino AFC hanging dry this time. The Santa Maria supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santa Maria would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
