Arturo Imperatrice showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fortunato Gentile, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. When Diego Angelici came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Cornocchio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Angelici couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fortunato Gentile in the 21st minute of play forced Cavalicco's goalkeeper Arturo Imperatrice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Cornocchio FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ermanno Preda hit a great ball. Arturo Imperatrice showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fortunato Gentile, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 30th match minute, Cornocchio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Ruzzi to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francesco Forte in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domenico Renzetti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fortunato Gentile to make the kick off. When Cavalicco's Francesco Forte in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Diego Angelici managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cornocchio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Angelici was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Imperatrice breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Fortunato Gentile came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cornocchio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fortunato Gentile couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute of the match, Francesco Forte tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Domenico Renzetti saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carlo Serantoni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francesco Forte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domenico Renzetti having to interfere. Francesco Forte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Diego Angelici's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Imperatrice was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. After 93 minutes of play, Cornocchio FC's Diego Angelici made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arturo Imperatrice was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cornocchio FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cavalicco had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
