The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dario Uguccioni kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vandalino's zone, Ferdinando Giancola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octav Alexa came out of the goal and Ferdinando Giancola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Attilio Sanna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Didi Fanfarone made a huge save. After 14 minutes eraclea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabrizio Lovera who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Attilio Sanna at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of eraclea. 1-0. Octav Alexa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniele Luciani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Didi Fanfarone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Uguccioni in the 20th minute of play. Octav Alexa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ysidro Viñas in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ysidro Viñas in the 30th minute of play forced Vandalino's goalkeeper Octav Alexa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vandalino's Fabrizio Lovera got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felice Piermattei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Didi Fanfarone made a huge save. After taking down the ball on Vandalino's corner Fabrizio Lovera fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Didi Fanfarone quite easily take care of the ball. Ferdinando Giancola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Daniele Luciani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Octav Alexa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 48 minutes into the match, Daniele Luciani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Octav Alexa. Vandalino's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniele Luciani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniele Luciani to make the kick off. Ysidro Viñas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ysidro Viñass short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Octav Alexa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 63rd match minute, eraclea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Comunardo Palma to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Sanna in the 64th minute of play forced eraclea's goalkeeper Didi Fanfarone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Didi Fanfarone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Uguccioni in the 68th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniele Luciani in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Octav Alexa saved Vandalino from getting behind. Vandalino's Octav Alexa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Vandalino from getting a goal against them. Octav Alexa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ysidro Viñas in the 80th minute. Octav Alexa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniele Luciani, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After 86 minutes of play, Vandalino's Fabrizio Lovera made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Didi Fanfarone was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Dario Uguccioni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 94 minutes on the clock, Andre Verheijd commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A collision led to Vandalino getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Andre Verheijd hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Vandalino's goalkeeper Octav Alexa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anthony De Marco. The supporters of Vandalino booed when eraclea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Reggianini didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
