Josef Heising took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignác Bodrogi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Csaba Dömötör's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Heising read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. János Vékony took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Josef Heising. Finnish Brothers Hungary's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Csaba Dömötör to strike the kick off in the second half.
