After 12 minutes of play, HNK Cibalia's Ljubo Markotić made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stipe Dulčić was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stipe Dulčić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edo Đalski in the 16th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopold Brnović in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nikola Stepić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nikica Kordić kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Nikola Stepić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ozren Mlačak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gradište Mosor's Stipe Dulčić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edo Đalski in the 28th minute of play. Ljubo Markotić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Stipe Dulčić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Saša Žurić during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Gradište Mosor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saša Žurić to maneuver through the defense. If Ljubo Markotić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stipe Dulčić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edo Đalski in the 36th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Leopold Brnović cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nikola Stepić was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ozren Mlačak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Nikola Stepić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leopold Brnović to make the kick off. If Edo Đalski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gradište Mosor's Šimun Kajp got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Gradište Mosor getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Saša Žurić hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, HNK Cibalia's goal looked a bit too open when Leopold Brnović came free, but Nikola Stepić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Ljubo Markotić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stipe Dulčić was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 67 minutes into the game, Adolf Brdar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HNK Cibalia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gradište Mosor the free kick. In the 68th minute, Ozren Mlačak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edo Đalski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Gradište Mosor's Dubravko Puškarić got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to HNK Cibalia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Bruno Bajac hit a great ball. Adrijan Zorić's late challenge caught a Gradište Mosor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrijan Zorić helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, Dubravko Puškarić sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and HNK Cibalia's Nikola Stepić didn't even have to move. Gradište Mosor's Stipe Dulčić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ljubo Markotić in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ljubo Markotić in the 89th minute of play forced Gradište Mosor's goalkeeper Stipe Dulčić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopold Brnović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikola Stepić having to interfere. HNK Cibalia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
