The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Franjo Paravina struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Roman Tuna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beretinec. In the 5th minute Fabijan Guberina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Tuna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabijan Guberina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Tuna having to interfere. Fabijan Guberina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fabijan Guberina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jure Matjašić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Tuna having to interfere. After a rather tough play, NK SAVA Strmec's Tonči Purić got a free kick in the 25th minute. Fabijan Guberina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jure Salaj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dado Gašić having to interfere. In the 32ndth minute of the game Jure Salaj who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beretinec's Dado Gašić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Franjo Paravina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Roman Tuna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Silvio Galetić fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beretinec's protests and gave Silvio Galetić a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Beretinec getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Silvio Galetić hit a great ball. In the 39th minute of the match Jura Karuza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dado Gašić skillfully saved the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Fabijan Guberina dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Roman Tuna, 2-0. Franjo Paravina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Roman Tuna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabijan Guberina, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franjo Paravina in the 57th minute of play forced NK SAVA Strmec's goalkeeper Roman Tuna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabijan Guberina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Krešo Švaljek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th match minute, Beretinec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jure Matjašić to maneuver through the defense. Dado Gašić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krešo Švaljek in the 68th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Fabijan Guberina notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of NK SAVA Strmec's Roman Tuna. Roman Tuna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. During the 76th minute of the match Silvio Galetić completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Silvio Galetić a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 77 played minutes Beretinec got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Galetić. In the 84th minute Krešo Švaljek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dado Gašić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Franjo Paravina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, NK SAVA Strmec's Dado Gašić threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gojko Mikas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Beretinec's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
