Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Éric Cabot started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Teinturier in the 9th minute of play forced Besançon's goalkeeper Ronald Ferrier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christophe Chirat got free with Achille Delanoë in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robert Bouly's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronald Ferrier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Éric Cabot rounded Mulocherie's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Achille Delanoë showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éric Cabot in the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Franck Rohou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mulocherie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Besançon the free kick. In the 25th match minute, Mulocherie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franck Rohou to maneuver through the defense. Achille Delanoë made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Christophe Chirat sent off a good shot on target. 27 minutes into the match, Christophe Chirat dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Achille Delanoë, 2-0. In the 36th minute, Christophe Chirat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christophe Chirat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Mulocherie's goal looked a bit too open when Éric Cabot came free, but Achille Delanoë reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Éric Cabot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute of the match, Christophe Chirat got a very nice opportunity to score, but Achille Delanoë was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Bouly to make the kick off. When Robert Bouly fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mulocherie's protests and gave Robert Bouly a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes Mulocherie got a freekick which was hit by Robert Bouly. Achille Delanoë took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Éric Cabot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mulocherie getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Pierre-Louis Darnis hit a great ball. Besançon's Arnaud Dumay was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Achille Delanoë in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 60 minutes, Maurice Minot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mulocherie and the Besançon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th minute, Maurice Minot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mulocherie fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Besançon a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arnaud Dumay, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mulocherie's Achille Delanoë. 3-0. 70 minutes into the match, Besançon's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Bouly came free, but Ronald Ferrier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michel Teinturier in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ronald Ferrier, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Teinturier got free with Ronald Ferrier in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, Robert Bouly reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ronald Ferrier. The goal made the score 3-1. Robert Bouly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
