Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Josselin Finot kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marc-Olivier Chatry during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Montpellier's Marc-Olivier Chatry got a free kick in the 5th minute. Eymeric Ozouf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. André Toupin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Coulaines's Camille Douce got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugène Réa charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugène Réa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Eugène Réa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Montpellier's André Toupin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Montpellier from getting a goal against them. Corentin Douay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josselin Finot's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Corentin Douay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josselin Finot in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Coulaines's goal looked a bit too open when Ben Cormerais came free, but Corentin Douay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Toupin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Douce, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Camille Douce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coulaines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camille Douce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josselin Finot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Corentin Douay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Ben Cormerais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corentin Douay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eymeric Ozouf might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over André Toupin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eymeric Ozouf ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Montpellier's Ben Cormerais got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
If Camille Douce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Coulaines's zone, Josselin Finot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corentin Douay came out of the goal and Josselin Finot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eymeric Ozouf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Toupin having to make a save. Ben Cormerais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Corentin Douay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ben Cormerais fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corentin Douay having to interfere. Corentin Douay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josselin Finot, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Eymeric Ozouf scored 2-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Toupin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 73 played minutes Montpellier got a freekick which was hit by Dan Paoli. In the 74th minute of the match Darren Louineau sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Toupin skillfully saved the ball. Coulaines's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
