The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luc Ruhlmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwan Gleize in the 6th minute of the match. Dave Vigot kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Raoul Fardeau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ludovic Patrac was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Erwan Gleize had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Gérald Clavier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marquisat fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Erwan Gleize sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francis Fourage kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Luc Ruhlmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sabri Zimmer in the 34th minute. Marquisat's Luc Ruhlmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwan Gleize in the 38th minute of play. If Raoul Fardeau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 44 minutes into the match, Celony's goal looked a bit too open when Raoul Fardeau came free, but Ludovic Patrac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Raoul Fardeau made a precise shot to the right of Ludovic Patrac. Celony's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ludovic Patrac made an important save on a dangerous shot by Honoré Desgranges in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Raoul Fardeau recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ludovic Patrac. Raoul Fardeau showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Luc Ruhlmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabri Zimmer in the 61st minute of play. Ludovic Patrac acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zinedine Casagrande. Raoul Fardeau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ludovic Patrac having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raoul Fardeau in the 69th minute of play forced Celony's goalkeeper Ludovic Patrac to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celony's Ludovic Patrac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raoul Fardeau in the 75th minute of play. Ludovic Patrac made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raoul Fardeau in the 78th minute of play. Celony's Ludovic Patrac proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Celony from getting a goal against them. Luc Ruhlmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabri Zimmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luc Ruhlmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabri Zimmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. If Erwan Gleize had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Marquisat supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marquisat would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
