Anatolio Castelao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aris Milonas got free with Aureo Salazar in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute LIFA UNITED were awarded a corner. Roberto Acarreta went to the cornerflag to take it. Aris Milonas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureo Salazar having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Nacho Morales lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Aureo Salazar. After some careless play in the Sondika FC defense, Sebastiano Campomanes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tirso Rey. The Sondika FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tirso Rey should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the match, Sondika FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ranolfo Paredes came free, but Tirso Rey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When Nacho Morales came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Sondika FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nacho Morales couldn't finish the play. Aris Milonas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tirso Rey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastiano Campomanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Sebastiano Campomanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tirso Rey made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Ranolfo Paredes sent off a good shot on target. Tirso Rey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastiano Campomanes in the 66th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sondika FC's zone, Sebastiano Campomanes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tirso Rey came out of the goal and Sebastiano Campomanes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sondika FC's Tirso Rey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sondika FC from getting a goal against them. Tirso Rey didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when LIFA UNITED's Sebastiano Campomanes shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. If Ramone Ramirez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastiano Campomanes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tirso Rey came out and tried to block the shot, but Sebastiano Campomanes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 83rd minute. In the 92nd minute Sebastiano Campomanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tirso Rey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, one of Sondika FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sondika FC. The referee gave LIFA UNITED a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roberto Acarreta, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sondika FC's Tirso Rey. 1-4.
