An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Zapico in the 15th minute of play forced OM's goalkeeper Fertus Galego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Americo Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Huerta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arcadio Unzueta kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Cristiano Huerta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. After the first half OM were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

OM's Fertus Galego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natanael Zapico in the 61st minute of play. Fertus Galego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Odilon Redondo went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute Cristiano Huerta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Americo Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odilon Redondo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fertus Galego having to interfere.
