The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hondo Quintero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Tano Comas made a huge save. In the 12th minute Macerio Canosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caitano Ortega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Macerio Canosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to El Escorial getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Oihan Serrano hit a great ball. When Macerio Canosa came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the El Escorial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Macerio Canosa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oihan Serrano in the 25th minute of play forced Correchouso's goalkeeper Caitano Ortega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, El Escorial's Macerio Canosa got a free kick in the 26th minute. Hondo Quintero let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 28th minute shot 1-1 at rihgt post. El Escorial's Tano Comas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save El Escorial from getting a goal against them. Hernán Manzano charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernán Manzano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes El Escorial got a freekick which was hit by Hernán Manzano. If Hondo Quintero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40thth minute of the game Xoan Viqueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Correchouso's Caitano Ortega was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Calvino Macho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teodor Barbosa made a kick off. After 56 minutes, Gonzo Clemente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Escorial and the Correchouso players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, one of El Escorial:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Escorial. The referee gave Correchouso a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Santiago Gala, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of El Escorial's Tano Comas. 2-1. Teodor Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Macerio Canosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caitano Ortega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Correchouso's Caitano Ortega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Macerio Canosa in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, El Escorial's goal looked a bit too open when Hondo Quintero came free, but Tano Comas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Correchouso booed when El Escorial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oihan Serrano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodor Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hondo Quintero in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tano Comas saved El Escorial from getting behind. In the 89th match minute, Correchouso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Calderon to maneuver through the defense. Macerio Canosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Caitano Ortega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Xoan Viqueira came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the El Escorial fans jumped to their feet. If Teodor Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the El Escorial players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Correchouso.
